Dr. Player is a native of Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia, and received his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine at Macon, Georgia in 2001.  He completed his residency and internship at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he was awarded the Outstanding Resident of the Year for the 2003-2004 academic year.  He has been Board Certified in Family Practice since 2004.  He has a special interest in managing diabetes and hypertension.  He also enjoys preventive care and helping patients reach their goals.

Dr. Player and his wife Jennifer reside in Wilmington with their two children.
