On November 1, 2011, New Hanover Medical Group, a NHRMC Physician Group practice, successfully transitioned to a new electronic medical record system to better serve you. It is called NHRMC Connect. NHRMC Connect replaces NHMG’s existing electronic medical record, further enhancing the patient experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Benefits of NHRMC Connect include harnessing healthcare’s most comprehensive, effective and efficient way for a variety of healthcare providers, both primary and specialty, to securely share patient information between the physician office and the hospital, in addition to many more patient care settings. That means, for example, when NHRMC Connect is fully implemented at NHRMC in June 2012, a hospital physician will have instant access to and be able to see the same medical information as your primary care physician. Conversely, your primary care physician will have access to and be able to see your medical information when you are being treated at the hospital.

Because of this seamless integration of medical information, your healthcare providers will be able to further optimize your care plan, including being able to receive, document and respond to – in real time – the most up-to-date test results and exam findings.

Benefits also include the ability for patients to securely access from home their own healthcare profile through a special web-based portal called NHRMC MyChart. This portal will share the same secure patient profile and messaging abilities as our previouse patient portal, but NHRMC MyChart is much improved and more effective.  Access to NHRMC MyChart begins with your registration at you next visit to New Hanover Medical Group, when you will receive an activation code to complete the sign up process.
