General

Q. What are your hours of operation?
A.  New Hanover Medical Group's hours of operation are 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday.

Q. Can I be seen within 24 hours for acute needs?
A. Yes, when you call ask to speak to a nurse and relay to her the problems that you are having to be worked in on the present day.

Q. How do I make an appointment?
A. Call the NHMG location that is located closest to you and say that you would like to make an appointment. 

Q. Where are each of your Wilmington offices located?
A. Central Office, 1960 South 16th Street, 910-343-9991
     Myrtle Grove Office, 5145 South College Road, 910-792-1144

Q. What should I do in case of an emergency?
A. If you are having a medical emergency then you need to dial 911.

Q. What insurance plans do you accept?
A. We are contracted with the following plans and will collect your co-payment at the time of service. If one is not indicated on your card, you may be subject to a deductible and co-insurance which is due at the time of service

If your insurance coverage is with a plan that we are not contracted with, we will collect your deductible and 25% of our charges when you are seen.

Your claim benefits are determined when your claim is processed at your insurance company.  We do our best to identify what your benefits may be, however, ultimately it is your responsibility to know your benefits. If any services require preauthorization, please notify the person scheduling your appointment, and we will be happy to contact your insurance company.
 
Q. Do you accept Medicare?
A. We are participating physicians with standard Medicare and will be happy to file your charges to Medicare.  We will file to your secondary insurance as a courtesy.  You are responsible to follow up with your secondary carrier.  We do not accept any Medicare replacement policies such as Humana Gold or Secure Horizons Direct.

Q. Are your physicians board certified?
A. All but one of our physicians are board certified.

A. Different special testing appointments may require for you to prepare in different ways, to find out the specifics for your special testing appointment preparation contact your doctor's nurse.
